Kehkiang and signed up as past year paper solution helper for ms3002. Forgot practically everything in just a month, have to re-read the whole lecture notes again zzz. I hope my fellow peers and juniors won't curse me when they see my pyp solution ): Cos sometimes when the solutions are full of mistakes I wondered how these people got their A+. NOW I KNOW. So much for that 25 bucks.

Did four point probe measurement on my own for my sup yesterday. Each wafer takes about 20minutes and I was stuck in the production line alone with eight wafers.. Plus it's very difficult to find a certain spot to use 3G for M1 and Starhub users in my workplace so there's a need to find more sources of entertainment to occupy my time when I'm waiting for the results already. Would be handling more characterization equipment next week!

Company will shut down for one whole week during cny period yay! :D :D

Doing readings for 8 hours is no joke! Electrons, holes, majority/minority carriers, photons.. My Taiwanese supervisor seems friendly though. Rejected school's URECA project but still ended up in R&D = KARMA!!

First day at work! Heed senior's advice and chose cell department together with friends but ends up I'm the only one in R&D department instead. My Taiwanese supervisor took two-day leave so I'm only able to know what my project is on Wednesday. The canteen food sucks, have to think of alternatives already. Maybe I should prepare/dabao food and microwave them. And how come whatever I learnt in MS3002 (fabrication of wafer to PECVD to etching etc) doesn't apply here?! I have to learn everything from the start again ): The Australian interns in my department are real friendly though (:

FML seriously. Worst nightmare for any sports player. Stepped on a hockey ball during training today and now I have a very swollen ankle. Damn I can't even play volleyball match this Thurs and a very important hockey match this Friday. All the training attended for the past two months in preparation for this IHG... The pain due to me unable to play IH this week far outweighs the pain coming from my ankle. It could be the last hockey match for this season. I don't know what to feel right now, my mind is completely blank..

Went to sinseh today and he said it will take roughly a week to heal. I seriously hope there's thunderstorm this Friday afternoon so that hockey match is postponed ):

Had the first inter-hall game today: hockey against hall 5. WE WON 3:0! All thanks to our super zai squatter, Eunice who scored all the goals today :D Dang she injured her arm during the last minute of the game. Praying hard for a speedy recovery. And I only managed to touch the ball once throughout the twenty minutes, which is a good thing since I'm the defender.Next match will be against hall 3, the champion hall that kicked us out of quarter last year. Being in the same group in the preliminary round might be good for us since we won't be meeting them in the quarter and history won't repeat itself. However this means that the match against hall 10 (I presume they will win over hall 5?) on this Thursday is very very crucial and we must win it no matter what. Hopefully it won't rain for the next two matches, I hate playing in the rain like today.

On the other hand, the guys match didn't go as smoothly. Hate seeing them do penalty flicks, it was nerve-wracking. Thank god the goalie was on form today so phew, we managed to get into the winner pool!

Having bangkok withdrawal syndrome now ): 4d3n simply not enough! The p2 boutique hotel was great, clean and nice. I like :D But the free breakfast buffet wasn't that fabulous. Love the seafood feast at Chinatown, saboteurs with the girls late at night and the nonstop shopping! Think I'm going to buy the deals again, definitely going back there soon! Perhaps next June?

All the papers are quite manageable, minus the carelessness. Hopefully I'm able to hit my target of 4.55 for this sem. Results will be out on 22nd Dec, kinda excited to know.

December will be fully packed with lots of softball, hockey & volleyball training for inter-hall games ): One after another, every single day. Plus meetings for the upcoming hall orientation camp. Can't believe I'm gonna be the programmer for the third time. Don't really wish to spend my entire holiday staying in hall till my attachment in Jan though.

Anyway, can't wait for the bangkok trip this coming Friday with my girls.

Met up with fellow GSS peeps @Marina Barrage today. A break from the hectic workload. Totally miss the days when we were all back in Troyes ): How I wish we could all turn back time and be back to Europe to study and play our hearts out. One month is really too short. Envious of my friends who are currently still in Europe for their exchange and seeing them posting albums and albums of beautiful photographs on Facebook makes me go awww. Wonder when would I set my foot in Europe again..

Gosh, it's already Tuesday and I only managed to finish online recordings of ONE pathetic core. Far behind time, decided to skip softball training and Ino's bbq&chalet tomorrow since there's volleyball training on Thursday. Guess I shouldn't over-commit and joined three sports. Sigh, recess week is simply not enough.

Guess a storm is in the brewing tonight, crazy strong wind! Like a typhoon. Everybody's talking about it on facebook.

Went down to NTU Nanyang Audi yesterday night to support Peh Linde for a Chinese song composing competition. I think she's one of the rare Singaporeans who made it to top ten (more than half from Malaysia). Congrats on coming in second place!(: Anyway yan was damn lucky, she won one of the lucky draws - Huang yida's album plus a basket of tidbits!

Thanks for inviting us to your pink&floral party. The food and desserts (chocolate fondue!!) are damn awesome, especially the homemade macaroons! Now that we are in year three, it's more difficult to meet given our timetable but we should try to meet up in school for lunch (till now we only had lunch once in year one). Thermoelectric material is driving me nuts! >:( One whole day and I'm barely into the second page of my five-page long article given by my supervisor on solar thermoelectric generators. Gosh. And I'm still contemplating whether should I take up ATREC URECA or not. Have to reply by this Friday.

Anyway, can't wait for the super long weekend! :D

Time spent watching korean drama: 12 hours

Time spent viewing online lecture: NONE

Luckily tutorial starts on week three, totally no mood to study yet! ): I'm back home on a Thursday night simply cause I'm super unproductive in hall. Have to start my online lectures (didn't pay enough attention in class hahah) tomorrow so that I can finish up all my tutorials for next week. Hate being a Year3, especially the upcoming projects and one of which my group (can't even choose my project mates as we were grouped according to surnames but thankfully mine was great) was unfortunately assigned to design a solar energy harvester using thermoelectric material. Damn suay and cheem, it totally feels like a mini FYP. This month will be spent digging up journals on thermoelectric material, mygawd how interesting.

Was selected for ATREC-URECA project, still contemplating though.

Pros: earn 10bucks per hour, defense related which I'm kinda interested in, don't have to source company for IA, able to continue project for FYP so time is saved, wonderful resume

Cons: lesser time to study core hence might not be able to meet my target GPA for this semester, don't feel like working at ATREC after graduation (too R&D), life revolving around thermite for one whole year.

HOW HOW HOW.

MSIG insurance so inefficient tsk. I'm still waiting for my two hundred bucks ): The rest already claimed theirs from NTUC Income.

Singapore is freaking hot.

Anyway, first flight was delayed and our connecting flight flew off before we landed at Dubai so we were stuck in Dubai from 0800 till 0245. Thank god we were given hotel and three buffet meals! Now I'm praying hard that I can claim a few hundred dollars from insurance hahah.

It's the last day of school at UTT today. Having exam tomorrow which marks the end of my global summer studies ): Hello June, how did you pass by so fast? I still remember the first evening when we reached Troyes and ate dinner at the freaking expensive MacDonald, amazed that the sky was so bright still even though it's nearly 9pm. Weather was so cold that everybody wrapped themselves tight in their jackets, hiding from the wind. But now almost everyone can just clad in t-shirt and shorts without feeling a tinge of coldness. I'm glad that I'd chosen the right school, the company (NTU peeps) here was fabulous! :D Drinking night, exercising at the sports hall at night, London trip, birthday celebration & more! Aww all these feel so...yesterday ):

The school brought us to the lake for water activities!(: Had a nice tan now(can't wait to get a better tan when I'm in Italy). It's a pity that we didn't get a chance to do sailing ): Thankful that the weather was good that day. Canoe + big boat + ball trap! Having muscle-ache right now but totally worth it!

London trip
OH MAN I MISS LONDON! ): It's such a nice place, there's no language barrier, the guys here are hotter, no urine smell in the train stations etc. Stayed at St Christopher's Inn @Camden and it's so nice that I might return to the same hostel if I'm coming back. Camden market sells pretty nice things too.

And I think we were damn lucky that day. Visited the Buckingham Palace on the Queen's birthday!! Saw Queen Elizabeth, pretty pretty Kate and Prince!

Finished packing my luggage! Laptop will be locked in my luggage tomorrow, won't get to update till I return to Singapore on 30th June! :D Visiting Versaille on this coming Saturday morning then it will be the start of our backpacking trip to Italy, Switzerland, and ~~Germany~~ Austria!(: Initial plan was to sit horse carriage up to visit the Neuschwanstein Castle(!!) but after much thought all of us agreed not to take the risk visiting Germany due to the E. Coli outbreak.

Gosh there're two papers and one presentation tomorrow and I haven't started studying for both yet nor have I rehearse. It's 1:20 am now and my eyes can barely open. Hmm nobody ever fail their GSS electives before right??

School brought us to tour around Champagne Region France. Was supposed to visit a stained glass studio but it wasn't open so we went to some lake to take photos. Try spotting our eyecandy at the background below hahah.

Trip to Disneyland Paris!! Left the hostel at seven and reached our destination at noon. Time was wasted on transport, freaking long and troublesome trip from Troyes to Disneyland. Had to take one main train that took 1.5hours from Troyes to Paris after which we have to change THREE different metro lines which took another hour. The rides at Disneyland are mostly meant for kids though ): Love the space mountain mission 2 roller coaster. Took it two times in a row and all of us got dizzy due to the spiral 360 degree turns. Was kinda disappointed with the place, it wasn't as grand and nice as I thought plus we couldn't find any Disney mascot at all to take photo with ): We left the place a bit too late (mesmerized by the pretty girl at the souvenir shop) and we really ran for our lives fearing that we might miss the very last train that departs to Troyes. It's been so long since I last ran this fast. Come to think of it, it's pretty exciting to stand right in front of the door and getting ready to chiong out and sprint to the next platform at every stops. I can't imagine the seven of us spending the night at the Paris train station. Reached the main station just five minutes earlier with everybody panting like mad. Crazy experience.The pretty 19yearold UK girl working at one of the souvenir shopsPalace is so damn pretty ♥♥♥ where's the prince?? Hahah.

Alone at hostel now while the rest are attending project management class. Was sick yesterday, gastric pain the entire day plus fever. Might be due to the shots I drank two nights ago. Played the circle of death and I was the "lucky" one who chose the last King and had to drink whatever the amount of hard liquor the rest poured. Feeling slightly better now think I will go to school later for French lesson.

Yesterday was bank holiday (public holiday) and we decided to head down to McArthurGlen Factory outlet. Sadly, it's a waste of time and money since none of us bought anything and we spent 10+ euros just on bus fares and lunch @ Mac. Did I mention that Mac here cos S$12 for one meal?? Bus fares are expensive too - 1.20euros per journey. Anyway we got caught by the bus conductors for not paying proper fare (the four of us tap once only) and the penalty was 29euros(!!) but since we can't communicate and trying to act blur, they let us off phew. It was quite scary though, there were about 3 to 4 of them shouting and asking the bus driver to stop and shoo us all down halfway. What an experience.

Love the supermarket here in Troyes, especially the brand TOP BUDGET(: Cheap and nice!

These yummy biscuits below cost 0.35euros and we took 22 boxes yesterday and end up being charged for 2(!!) boxes only which means one box of biscuits costs S$0.05!! :D

I'm back from paris! :D
Spent 3D2N there and gosh it's so tiring my legs almost died even though I'm wearing my havaianas. I need a foot massage badly now. Didn't really get to enjoy the trip as there were too many places of interest to visit in so little time. Had only about five hours or less of sleep for the past few days. Paris is a very very fast paced city, taking the metro is quite scary. 'm a huge h&m fan now, round3 @London soon! Can't wait to visit Paris Disneyland next Sunday :D :D

Reached Troyes at 430pm today, took 22hours to travel from Singapore.

Hostel is 5minutes walk from school, shared with US students who are participating in the summer program too.

Had Mac for dinner at 930pm and it's still so bright.

Just back from watching fireworks (!!) which lasted for about 15minutes from UTT GALA 2011 in our fbt and slippers @16°C! AWESOMENESS! Way better than our pathetic NDP. It's 8am in Singapore, time for me to sleep!

Finally done with Exam! :D 'm only satisfied with one paper out of five. Busy packing now, shouldn't wait till last minute. Don't really know what to bring so I'm practically bringing everything; 29inch luggage is fully filled to the brim! Not much space for new clothes already ): Wondered how the rest squeezed so much stuff in their 25inch luggages.. Hopefully I won't miss out anything important though.

It's quite tough to plan a perfect itinerary that everybody is happy with, especially when money is concerned. Oh well got to learn to give and take. Looking forward to the London trip during my only free weekend & post-gss: backpacking Italy, Switzerland and Germany with the clique(: Money spent on booking of transportation and hostels alone already totaled up to S$4,000! Planned to save up on meals by cooking our own cheap dinner but sadly the apartment we're staying in has no stove only a pathetic microwave. Lessons are from 9-12 and 2-5 daily which means I can't shop much since factory outlet stores close at 7pm and McArthur Glen is quite a distance away from school ): Anyway, I'm so grateful that my Edusave account still has about 2k which is enough to cover the 850€ program fee.

I think hall office should do something with the beehive soon. Within ten minutes two bees flew to my table. Yan and I had a hard time "catching" them using cup and paper. Closed all the windows and door just in case and we're like suffocating in our room now zzz.

You will need:

a small glass of rubbing alcohol or vodka
10 strips of newspaper (bigger than your nail)
LIGHT nailpolish. white, clear, light pink, etc. anything LIGHT

K now do this:

Dip your nails in the alcohol for a while so the whole nail is wet
press a strip of the newspaper on your nail and hold firmly for 30 seconds. do NOT move the strip, keep it firm.
YOU’RE DONE! Now go over with a clear coat so it’ll last
